HI guys,
I'm new here. I have a question . Well i have a bunch of VOB pieces hanging around in my hard drive and I would like to know if there is a software preferably freeware that joins up the VOB pieces and converts them to Divx. I've read several threafds in other forums and they all use 3 or 4 other software. I only want 1 program and preferably not with any confusing cropping steps or choosing sound format or files size or any of that.
If anyone can help me please post.

Ok I have a similar question... I have a lot of dvd I would like to convert to save on my pc in either .avi or what ever is going to save me the most space. I am a noob but have some sense. I have tried to use autogk to convert to avi but always end up with out of sync audio bad. first 20 seconds are ok but then it gets considerably worse with each second. The audio by the time I am one minute in the movie visually, is two to three minutes ahead. I have searched forum after forum and googled the crap out of it and have no results. So one of the people smarter thenme,PLEASE HELP

Ripping the main movie first with DVDFab will remove any protections and therefor should get rid of all sync problems so encoding with AutoGK will be fine.

I recently have been dealing with some of these issues, in the matter of trying to figure them out. I read many threads and came with a good solution via all the different ideas I was getting from the threads. I had some file that were .vob files that I wanted to join into one file so I found Format Factory which is freeware and does pretty much everything you are looking for it to do. It can decode some movies, at least all I have thrown at it thus far. I have not tried any of the new stuff (Tinkerbell, Up) movies that probably have encryption like the the vault of fort knox.
Format Factoy will also convert your files into whatever format you wish with whatever containers you want. I use .avi for streaming to PS3 and 360 with PS3 Media server and I have had next to perfect quality of picture and sound.
I hope this answers your questions.
