@larrylje the legend and smokeyrain.
What's happenin'? Wow! This thread as really grown ever since the closure of larrylje's previous PSP modding thread. I haven't posted any replies to questions that users have made in a long time, but I occasionally check it out. I guess one or two can maintain this thread. I would like to increase my post count, but since I've shifted over to XBOX360 I've been putting in work in there.
Keep up the good work! You guys are doing a great job and if help is needed I can pitch in. It can be overwhelming answering repetitive questions page after page. I hope DAX releases a M33 firmware, for no one should upgrade to those GEN CFWs because it lacks compatibility and breaks homebrew.

hey locobrown
Feel free to help here anytime you want. Yes I would like to see a new M33 firmware also. I don't want those GEN CFW either.
@ sonydagr8
I am calm, lol
My point is, unless you have followed this guide, it is kind of hard for us to help you. To know exactly what steps you have took.
We don't know what youtube video you followed. You didn't mention you hard modded your battery in the first place.
It is much easier for other people to help you if you make a new thread with your issue
Not every one is going to read this thread unless they have followed it.

okay so my Pandora battery came today but when I put it inside the PSP I just get a black screen
I have gone through the creating a magic memory stick process multiple times to make sure that I did not do anything wrong but it will still not work
And I am totally stuck on what I should do

Did you check this section on Troubleshooting:
There are new motherboard's out their (on SLIM PSP's) that can not be flashed at this time (including using Pandora & MMS) those PSP syatems have 4.00+ out of the box (for more info go HERE).

Yeah but I bought this PSP used so I have no way of trying to figure out if it is hackable

It is hard to tell without having another psp that has CFW already on it.
Another option would be to try this guide and see if it works on your psp.

yeah I already know about that but this PSP has the 5.51 firmware
This sucks it probably is a unhackable PSP but I got it for really cheap and I can most likely sell it for more then I bought it for

I have 5.00 m33-6 CFW, the kernel is set to 5.XX and all I get are black screens for all of the sites with a "no videos" message in the top left corner
what is this?

Have you tried using the AC adaptorlike I did? Try the Hercules Guide and the AC adaptor, because I had a similar problem. BTW, are you getting the green power light when you insert the Pandora? That's a good sign

Just trying to help out a friend here who has a Slim hackable psp running OFW 5.03. I have a phat running CFW 5.00M33-6.. I should be good to go creating a pandora battery and magic memory stick correct? I read somewhere (afer reading soooo much) that only the slim 4.01 and under can be hacked?
Can someone please confirm that was an old post. Thanks.

That depends... Did your friend's PSP come with 5.03? Or did it come on lower OFW?

Lower I think, it was 4.01 when I first checked - only upgraded it to 5.03 to get ChickHEN exploit to work but could not get it to flash CFW 5.0 M33. So I decided to go the Pandora + MMS route instead.
I checked the mobo and it is the TA v2 one.

If its only a TA-088 v2 then it should be perfectly safe to use pandora and mms, even though I've never hacked one before. I think its only TA-088 v3 and above pandora doesnt work for...

So I got the pandora battery part done and I have the magic memory stick ready in the Slim PSP. However when I pop in the pandora battery , the power green light flashes one time and then nothing. Is there anything else that I am forgetting to do?

TA-088 v2 - This comes out with the 3.90 firmware. This motherboard (like V1) cannot softmod a Pandora battery. Also, this motherboard can only be hacked with the Pandora Battery with the magic memory card installed by the application DC7.GUIDE to install DC7, one must have a custom firmware PSP (either another one or from a friend)
This info came from this thread - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/709168

Ok, it worked liked a charm after I installed DC 7. Thanks again smokeyrain.
Quick question - can the pandora battery and combination of DC 7 work on a phat as well or do I need to redo the magic memory stick? Another friend now wants me to install CFW on his phat psp.
However I'm having a little issue converting my pandora battery back to normal as I reformated my memory stick a couple times! I did make a backup of eeprom.bin file. Just don't know which tool to use to convert back?

Glad it worked for you! All DC7 and DC8 sticks should work on any compatible mobo, no matter what psp model you use it on (with the exception of PSP-3000).
To convert it back to a normal battery, use any kind of program that can change the serial of the battery, it doesnt matter what you change the serial to as long as its not 0x00000000 of 0xFFFFFFFF. 0x12345678 works fine... Ultimate VSH Menu has an option to convert batteries into pandora and back!

The answer is... yep! You can still use a MMS as a normal MS. The only difference is, if you use a pandora batt. the ipl.bin will load. Otherwise, use a normal batt. and everything will be the same!

Alright so, A few months ago i was installing some new CFW and I thought it all went great, but when I restarted my PSP, It was completely bricked :(. I had my PSP hacked by a friend who incidentally moved, so I was stuck with no way to fix my PSP for a while. Fast forward to now, and I got my Pandora battery :D. I was following this guide to make a MMS (using my computers card reader, which might have been the problem. The part where it says to take the card out, exit USB mode, put card back in PSP and restart USB mode, I would just pull out my card and put it back in :P) and it doesn't seem to be working. I know the battery works fine as I put it in and the PSP turns itself on, green light and everything. I put the card in, put in the battery and... blank screen, but it IS on. I dunno what to do. I tried holding L, and later R, and putting in the battery but nothing :(. Perhaps I made the MMS wrong? Sorry as I'm sure this has been asked dozens of times before.

Well I think your problem could be in using the slim battery in the FAT.
I could be wrong as I don't know a whole lot about creating pandora battery.
I know there are proper instructions

You may want to do some more searching also on that topic.
