IMO C4EVA should be charging for ixtreme. Modchip makers charge for modchips, why should ixtreme be any different?
I think the legal aspect of it is that you can put a brand new freshly made firmware made by you, on a modchip. So it's yours to do with as you please. Give it away, or charge for it.
iXtreme (to my knowledge) has always been a modified version of Microsoft's own firmware. If c4eva sold it, they'd be basically selling Microsoft's firmware, and getting sued, very very sued.
This is why modchips have always been in a gray area as far as legality, and modded firmware is 100% illegal.
