I need to work out what's is best to do.
I want to watch divx files on the xbox. But at the moment i get a error.
I have a nxe dashboard.
My son modded (flashed) my xbox360 , as he could not really afford the games.
Can I still update the xbox360 to play divx files?
Will jtagging the xbox solve the problem?

You should be able to update the xbox online however there is no guarentee you will not get banned.
In regards to JTAGing, if you have an exploitable dash (7371 or below) then do that! It will double your xbox's value!
divx? nobody uses divx anymore. If you are referring to *.avi (container) files, most everything that used to use the divx co/dec switched to xvid ages ago. xvid is a much better co/dec.
there was a workaround by transfering liscence and codec (try google) ,I would not update if there's no need or without lt+.
