You said you have one with yellow wires. That means you have a Lite-ON DVD drive. Even though Lite-ON and BenQ have the same trays, they are different.

i am flashed at 1.6 right now do i need to dump the firmware again i already have my key and ofw.bin can i just use the ofw.bin and the nre 1.61 and erase then write using jungle flasher

I was JUST about to flash my liteon with 1.6.. I guess I'll just wait then thanks leerage.
Flashing procedure will be exactly same even with 1.61 yes?

Yup flashing will be the same as the other firmwares. I don't know though if JungleFlasher has been updated to auto load the 1.61 firmware, after reading the drive.
And SATTNINJA, I would just to be safe, since it really doesn't take that much more time to do.

well worked like a charm i did not dump the drive i just used my original firmware applied the new firmware erased and wrote all works fine tested the new gta verified thru abgx and game played fine thanks alot

you dont need to update it. if you have a benq spoofed as a hitachi, it will still act as a hitachi, and hitachis play w4 games no problem.

lol man i was about to get upset,i just flashed 2 lite ons,thinkin this was for them also,i just flashed my sons sammy to 1.6 i should just do this upgrade for those wave 4 he wants to play

I don't flash with jungleflasher. I use dosflash and the old firmwares I use have the different disc speed folders.

12x. you prob wont see any more variable speed FWs since the stock is 12x.
