New Xbox 360 System Update Starts Rolling Out
>> As leaked a few days ago, Microsoft is rolling out the new dashboard upgrade (2.0.13146.0) starting today. We of course suggest people with a modified DVD FW do NOT update for now until the update has been analysed, but as we know from the beta dashboards this update will probably flash your DVD firmware with a new one (mostly done to support the XGD3 disc format). If you decide to upgrade anyway, we HIGHLY suggest you get your DVD KEY before the update. You can then eventually try to reflash the modified FW after the update is done. But a new modified FW will probably be required (certainly to support those new XGD3 discs).

I'm really looking forward to that usb whatsamajigg that's supposed to come out soon, but who knows, maybe this recent dash update already patched the exploit those dudes found.

I have 2 systems I'm testing. The Sammy is prompting me to update, the Hitachi 79 is not. Maybe some of you can still access Live, just don't update if you get the prompt.
"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

So if I use the option linked above & re-flash my drive with the latest firmware will it still work in the meantime or is waiting for the new one the only real option?

I don't even care about XBL, to be honest. I only connect when I need to download content for a game (in this case Madden 11 rosters) so if I'll be able to play offline it's fine for me. Would re-flashing work for just offline play?

When does it come out in the usa?
my stupid neighbor put his halo reach (with update) in my non modded console and now I can not access live.

I didn't know what the hell was going on. I was still logged in to XBL but none of my backups would play. Then I tried some of my originals and they played fine. Figured it was something done to the firmware.
Any word on when the new firmware will be available?

So is it 100% guaranteed if I update the xbox I will have to reflash the drive to continue playing my backups? I'm guessing it would be even safer to wait for the new LT before updating/flashing huh?
But LA Noire is so much better when I can ask the community :P

seems like it. i updated and now none of my games are working. a reflash to the current LT+ will fix it? is that confirmed? i dont mind staying on current LT+ because who knows when the update is coming. i need my LA Noire fix.
