Just a heads up, mostly for those that are still on an older dashboard version than 13599. Rugby World Cup 2011 is the first wave 12 game. abgx360 will automatically update its dat file to support wave 12 and you can grab the video file from here which is needed for auto-fixing ISOs: -

I don't know for sure as I was already on the latest dash, but I'm guessing that this will update your 360 to dashboard version 2.0.13146.0, which does reflash the drive. The date of the files inside the $SystemUpdate folder is May 2011 which was when that dashboard update came out, so it's likely to be that and not the very latest one (2.0.13599.0).

yea thats what i was thinking too. Ive been waiting for one of those updates to come out on a disc. Figured it would be before this hoilday season.
I've always wondered if Gears 3 might end up being the first retail XGD3 disc :)

So is there any way to patch the disc so it doesn't update? I don't care about Live, my xbox is offline only.

I tried to go to wave 3, but maybe i need to go back to wave 2 which does not have the $systemupdate folder

Bit of trial and error but got it working. Was locked up at update screen so I re-flashed to lt+1.9. Loaded up Xbox and it was still locked up so then disconnected hard disk and the update was cancelled. When Xbox restarts update will complete. Then re-attach hard disk and it updates and is now working fine on dash 13146. Not sure if it was the re-flashing or disconnecting of the memory device that got it to work.

Looks like wave 13 is out now too, as Bodycount has a new video partition that's not recognised by abgx360 yet. It could just be a bad rip, but there's no AnyDVD corruption.

Whats the route around the dashboard update?
Revert to orig.bin, update dashboard via usb, then reflash to Ixtreme 1.91? Will that work?

yea I tried playing madden 2012 yesterday on 2 different consoles both benq & it won't even goto dashboard anymore. its trying to apply update den it says something bout update won't go thru or somethin along those lines. when I cut xbox on it goes straight to that black & white update screen. I've put dash update frm microsoft on flash drive & on a cd & they don't work.. need help asap. thanks...

Read my post above mate, re-flash to 1.9 and then disconnect hard disk when screen is locked up during update.

Yep. If you flash back to stock, update the dashboard either via Live or via the downloadable version of the update from Xbox.com, then flash back to LT+ 1.91 you'll be OK. It's people that are trying to update without flashing back to stock first that are having the problem with either getting stuck in a failed update loop or getting other errors.

I have done absolutely everything. nothing is working. what am I missing? I have went back to stock, I went to 1.9, I even went to 1.1, & I've went to the so call pre firmwares that's in the latest ixtreme & stock firmware pack .rar file that I downloaded. can't get to dashboard... what am I doing wrong? need help asap...

well I tried reverting back to stock & couldn't get to dashboard. I've tried updating to lt 1.1, 1.9, same screen... what am I doing wrong?

Try turning the 360 off, then holding in the sync button (on the console) and turning it on while keeping the sync button held in. That can clear a failed dashboard update.
Another thing you can try is to remove all storage devices from the console, then get a USB stick that has nothing on it apart from the latest dashboard update, and update from that.
If you try either of those, you'll still need to be on stock firmware in order to update your console.
If neither of those work, then I don't know. You may have bricked it by trying to update without going back to stock firmware first, or maybe there's a different solution that someone else can come up with.

same thing. put stock back on, wiped everything frm flash except $systemupdate folder, nothin.... took everything out of folder put on root of flash drive nothin... powered on while I held sync button & removed flash drive & hard drive with every single combination, nothin... I even reformatted flash drive & repeated everything I tried & I got nothin...

thanks for your help anyways... I forgot to add that before it messed up it went to applying update & it went halfway across before all of dis stuff started messing up. don't kno if dat helps any but just thought i'd add dat in there...

A bit confused. I have an offline only (banned) BenQ that is on the 2.0.12625 dash, running LT+1.1. Since its banned, I haven't bothered updating the dash or LT as everything up through wave 11 was working fine.
From what I'm reading it sounds like wave 12 will force me to finally update. Just want to confirm that is correct?
If so, I know I need update my firmware to LT+1.91, but what is the recommended process? Flash to stock, update dash, then flash to LT+1.91, or just update dash and flash to LT+1.91?
Or do I need not bother once ABGX is updated?

honestly I would patch them to wave 11 or less I wouldn't update unless I had to trust me.. unless you're not worried about the update screen that people have been stuck on here recently...
