xbox 360 disk backup/burn problem

Hi so I've got my xbox 360 flashed and it works with backup games but for some reason I can't burn them myself and get it right. I'm using verbatum dvd+r dl 8.5GB disks and writing at 2.4x, I've used image burn, xbox backup creator, and clone cd. Please help!!! Thanks in advance to anyone who's willing to spend their time helping.

remember you have to burn the .dvd file....not the iso file..., and they have to be in the same folder with the same name. And in the imgburn settings the layer break must be at 1,913,760.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have tried to burn the .dvd file and it burned to the disk but when i put it in the xbox it reads it as a dvd and then says media not recognized. Does the fact that I'm using a laptop and/or I have a bad iso file have anything to do with it?

what games are you trying to play, and what FW if is on your console. if you are unsure on the FW, when was it modded. more than likely, you are trying to play new games like MW2, and assassins creed which you must have at least iextreme 1.51 in order to play. hitachis with 1.51 will play them with no problem at all, sammys and benqs with 1.61 will also play with no problem. however, if you have a lite-on you need 1.6 with the activation.iso in order to play the games.

thanks again. I have a samsung hitachi ts-h943A and it was just flashed a couple days ago using jungle flasher. and yes i was trying to burn mw2. How would I update the firmware as i payed someone to do it because I only have access to a laptop??

updating can only be done with a reflash. ask the guy what FW he put on it. if he didnt put 1.61 on it, tell him to reflash it for free since it has been out for a month or so, and he should have used that anyways. if it does have 1.61 on it, then you probably have a crappy burner.

you wrong on your drive. there is no samsung hitachi drive. its one or the other.

back to the burner if the disk wont even say when i put it in a dvd player "please place into an xbox 360" does that mean i burned it wrong?

no. what are you expecting a dvd player to say when you put the game into a dvd player?? also which drive do you have as there is no samsung hitachi.

well when i put a regular xbox 360 game into my laptop it plays as a dvd and says "to play this disk, please place it into an xbox 360 console" but when i put the disks i burn in and play it as a dvd, it just goes black. also i just talked to the guy who flashed it for me and the firmware is 1.61. thanks again for all your help

well its going to say that when you put it into your laptop. it cant read 360 games. and get an external burner. that will solve your burning issues since the drive has 161 on it.

get a samsung one. i have a sammy internal its awesome. as where to get it, depends on where you live. if you are in the states then tigerdirect.com or newegg.com. if your not in the states, then idk.

I am having this problem when i try to burn with imageburn. It crashes about 33% into the write process

I thought you had to have a kreon drive to backup games? Maybe thats what he meant and hes trying to copy/burn originals?

no I'm trying to burn iso's I have downloaded through a torrent. I think I figured out the problem, and I was thinking was it confirmed that mw2 will work with a sammy? Because teken 6 or something like that works and its relatively new.....

then its definitely my burner because i didn't burn teken 6 and someone else burned teken 6. i have a "tsstcorp cddvdw ts-l633m ata device" in my laptop. any way i can update the drivers or something to make it work?

SPTD is possibly to do with DAEMON Tools if you have them installed.
Easy way to uninstall SPTD is to download SPTD installer form DuplexSecure
Your threshold levels are failing probably because you have something else using up all your CPU or RAM memory, check your system tray for programs running that don't need to be and your task manager by holding "ctrl, shift and Esc". It is also possible that you have a very bad burner, is it internal to a laptop as it could be using a poor connector. Try turning everything else off first and forget about the verify option as it will not make any difference to your backup working or not, it will just waste time. You can also try downloading the latest imgburn from the official Website just incase its an old version your using from a third party Website.

I have an optiarc 7170A manufactured by NEC dvd writer.. my imageburn is the newest one (2.5)only 1.5mb was actually written to my disc - err... coaster now. I would not doubt if my dvd writer is crap... my wife's laptop is the only other one that i could try.. but i have read that will also have problems writing... her laptop has no problem with dvd fab but yes i know this is different

i uninstalled SPTD and i made sure that all other programs were closed and i did not get any warnings... now my question is that since my dvd drive is not an xbox drive will it read the size of the disc when i click on the properties?
