I have an Xbox 360 20gb HDD (unmodded) trying to transfer to the 250gb HDD. I have the M$ transfer cable, but I need software. Will the .rar files posted on megaupload work if I burn them to a DVD? I don't want to take the risk of modding my console, so is this possible without modding?

From what somebody had found out a lttle further up in this thread was that they needed a modded system to be able to use it, because thier unmodified console was showing the play in xbox console screen. So I think it's pretty safe to say that it wouldn't work. Btw, the files aren't in that link, it's got a torrent file to use to download because I didn't like the idea of posting it on a public torrent site. ie TPB, or isohunt
Also, I have been unable to seed it since last Monday, so unless thereis anyone still seeding it, you wont be able to download it atm anyway... sowwy... :-(
If you want my advice, I'd call Microsoft customer services and ask them for a disk. If the idiot at the other end starts feeding you crap, just say to them, "if you wasn't such a bunch of cheap skates and ACTUALLY supplied the cable and software with new consoles and HDD's, I wouldn't need to make this call!" That kind of atittude can sometimes get the response you want, but sometimes they might hang-up, otherwise, ebay is your friend! ^o^

i'm not seeding it at the moment, as i'm away from my desktop, but starting sunday night, i'll seeding again. i'm seeding with bittorrent and frost/limewire. there should be a post somewhere up in this thread.
as for telling microshit they suck, dont waste your breath. those retarded indians dont know the difference between anger at and praise for the company they work for.
i would suggest ebay, but people seem to be screwing other people there for each piece. i've got a disc i loaned out a few days ago...i'm hoping to get it back soon, and maybe i can mail it out to someone else in the us, since the disc is region-locked

It worked for me once upon a time, but it wasn't to xbox customer services. It was when I was installing xp onto the comps in our house when XP came out. I had a legit retail version of professional, but the key was limited to 5 uses. One of the systems died with the install on and I already used my 5 installs, so I phoned them up and they tried to charge me for a new key. After telling them that if thier software wasn't so unstable I wouldn't have needed to call them and that I thought it was outrageous that they tried to charge me for software which I already paid for, they emailed me a new key within 24 hour. That was after I kicked up abit of a fuss and sent them a complaint! >.<
So I guess it doesn't hurt to try! ^o^

i'm guessing the OS customer service and the xbox "customer service" are two TOTALLY different things. i was told once that it wasnt their problem--that they already had my payment and there was nothing they were gonna do for mme, and hung up. i was livid. i've been hung up on so many times, i dont both being polite when i have to call them. i let them know just how pissed off and shitty their service is whenever i have to call.

lol I hate call centres! >.< i always make sure that I get the persons name before I tell them anything else. Half the time it's something I can't pronounce, so there's not really much point, but it makes me feel better. lol Anyway, I'm gonna stop posting in this thread now because I don't wanna get told off by the mods for going off topic... >.<

Unfortunately I have a really crap transfer rate on my home comp and no matter what I've tried it wont get any better, so I'm having to seed it at work. lol I'm off work for xmas and won't be back til 4th January, so I'll be seeding it again from then onwards 24/7! ^o^ Sorry for the inconvenience! >.<

You do have to pay a small fee for newsgroup access, but its worth it. Most ISP's offer a free basic newsgroup service, so it might be worth whilst asking your internet provider.

You wont need to become a newzbin member for the moment (ill send you a invite anyway) as im sending you the nzb file.
You will however need USENET access, I belive Giganewz have a 10GB trial on ATM so maybe try them.
Have a look at This tutorial. I would however recommend SABNZBD for your newzgroup client

if someone wants to give it a try, I can now send you a link to the PAL transfer disc v2. At least the uploader claims it is actually the v2 disc, but I didn't check it myself. If you are interested, drop me a pm :-) And if I know more about the status (v1/v2?!) I'll let you know.
