xbox wont boot with hdd???

somebody please help me? i am so lost! i fixed error code 0110 with reflow and then i turned it on without a hdd and it booted up fine and played games. but then i plugged in my hdd and the console turns on and the screen flickers like it is about to boot but nothibng happens. the screen just stays black. if somebody could please help me out, i have never seen such a thing before.

make sure your motherboard is screwed all the way down and that the shell is on when you're trying to use your harddrive or else it could be flexing the whole motherboard

make sure there isnt any debris in the HDD connector. more than likely something is bridging two pins and is causing it to screw up.

i looked and there is no visible debris that i could find and where are the pins in the hdd conector that could be bridging?

well any of the little slots that are in the HDD connector is what im referring to, could be on the 360 side, or on the HD itself.

i have tried this hdd on other 360's and it works and i have tried another hdd on this xbox and it still didnt work

could be an issue where the HDD connector is soldered to the MOBO itself then.

just opened up the xbox and the hdd connector does seem a little loose compared to my other ones. how would i fix this?

i tried holding the connector down while it boots and the xbox 360 logo comes up but then i get e 68

sounds like you have a dry joint there matey just get the soldering iron out and just touch up the HDD connector point on the board

Try resoldering the joints. E68 is a HD error. Or just dump the drive and use USB thumb drive for game saves

The HDD connector is on the top of the board.
The joints that need soldering are directly underneath it on the bottom of the board.
Take a low watt soldering iron place it on each point (1 at a time) for about 3 seconds to reflow the solder in the HDD joints.

i put more solder on the points and it was working for a little bit then all of a sudden it wouldnt even get to the xbox 360 screen with no hdd on but if i put on the hdd then it would get to the xbox 360 screen and then e68 again. im stumped, any suggestions?
