I"m sure we are all sick and tired of Cinavia, and just want to watch our backup copies in peace!! Ive looked and looked all over the internet in hopes of finding someway to get rid of or bypass Cinavia. I finally came across cinaviafix.com Of course I had to pay for the info but it was worth it. I was able to easily watch my backup movies on Cinavia with no problems following these instructions. I figured I would share this info with everyone in hopes that it would work for them as well! Please let me know if it works for you as well! Good luck!!!
The exe should have all the necessary programs along with the fix for Windows! The links for the various software is also included in the PDF. These programs are all for free, the PDF and guide I had to pay for, but it was worth it! Just thought Id share with everyone!!!! Hope it works for everyone just like it worked for me!!! The following links both contain the same program just from different hosting sites, in case on gets overloaded or taken down.

Not to my knowledge, I had to pay for this info just thought I'd share it. Hope someone tries it and reports back. I got the files from cinaviafix[dot]com I paid for the info and I had no problems. Worked on every movie I tried, it also has a guide for Mac.

I dont know what the exe file does, but the pdf is what everyone else suggests, editing the audio so cinavia doesnt recognise it.
This works but you have to do it too every single file you have a problem with, and for some people their pcs dont have the power to do it quickly enough or have the time themselves.
So it is a fix, kindda, if you want to spend the time doing it.
The best "fix" I have found is forwarding the time on your PS3, they say you only need to forward it by one hour, but I do it by a day. Do this every 30 minutes when the message comes up. Think of it like an advert, or time to make a cup of tea; it's faster than editing all your video files.

The exe is the Windows version with all the necessary programs. It didn't take to long with this process, probably about 30 minutes to an hour. I'll try what you suggested and see how that works out. Thanks for the suggestion!!

i got an idea lets stop buying sony stuff and they will eventually get the picture.
Companies need to learn the hard way that the consumers are the life blood and if they dont satisfy us we can break them but unfortunately no one ever bands together to make these things happen. Whats the point of having back up discs if u cant even use them.

Yes and no, this is what everyone is already doing, using other encoders.
I would not trust this exe file though, who knows what else is in it.
Just use one of the free video encoders and change the audio setting using it, rather than this thing. At least that way you know there isnt anything fishy in the program.
This process can be time consuming though especially on a slower pc, hence why it isnt really a fix, it;s a work around, and it takes time and you have to do it with every files that triggers cinavia.

Hello everybody, this is my first post. I just want to share my simple solution to the Cinavia problem on PS3. There are currently 3 solutions I know of. The first one is MKV2VOB which patches DTS audio, but very rarely works and if you do get it to work, the resulting file is normally unplayable. The second solution is to stream the file using PS3 media server, however on high definition content, it will hardly ever play 100% smoothly over the network. And solution 3 is by creating a backup using DVDfab which defeats the point of MKV's and portable hard drives. I found a solution that works 100% of the time so you can just play it from your external hard drive as per normal.
For the bypass to work, you need an external sounds system, preferably connected to your PS3 via an optical cable. Make sure you have the sound setting on your PS3 set to bitstream and have it streaming it's audio to your amp via the optical setting on your PS3.
You need 3 free applications. MKVExtract, tsMuxer and spdifer.exe. For MKVExtract and tsMuxer, it is easier if you download them along with their GUI's.
Once you have these applications ready to use, open the MKV file you wish to play in MKVExtract. Extract the video and the audio. Once extracted, you need to run the extracted .dts file through spdifer.exe by opening command prompt and using the command "spdifer input.DTS output.WAV -wav" without the quotation marks. By doing this, you are changing the audio header to 2.0 LPCM to trick the PS3 into sending the whole decoding procedure to your AMP. Once spdifer has finished, open tsMuxer and add both the video you extracted earlier and the new .WAV file you have created. Make sure the output in tsMuxer is set to 'TS muxing', then click on the 'Split & cut' tab and select 'split by size every 4.000 GB'. Then click 'Start muxing'.
The resulting file is now ready to be played on your PS3. Your AMP will see the stream as DTS and will play it in it's original format with no loss of quality. Because all audio decoding is done by your AMP and none of it by your PS3, the PS3 will not detect the Cinavia watermark and will not interrupt your viewing pleasure. This is also a good workaround for non Cinavia protected MKV files where you want to retain the DTS audio.

what I usually do to bypass cinavia is to download a backup copy of movies from P*****bay. usually there is a guy called yiffy which makes each movie sub 800mb and is 720p Blu-ray quality.
simply get that file and cinavia will never bother you again :)

This won't work. YIFY's torrents are affected too. This is why I came here. I usually just endup playing it through my PC and just attatching a HDMI cable from my PC to the TV. Much easier and now I have a 46" monitor :)

I wouldn't run that .exe unless you have a safe virtual machine. Who knows what's in there.
What is written in the PDF should work, though. It recommends using Audacity (an audio editing package for many platforms) to add a slight amount of reverb to the audio.
Cinavia hides codes in the audio of movies by removing certain tones. These are most likely overtones in harmonic content, e.g. a speaking voice.
Specifically, I believe Cinavia encoding removes a specific pattern of overtones, so the Sony players can be sure the missing frequencies are part of the code, and not just random chance.
By applying reverb, you can smudge the frequency spectrum enough to add spectral energy into the FFT bins where Cinavia removed content. This should distort the code enough that the Sony player will not detect it, but should distort it in a way that doesn't sound TOO bad to your ears.

Here I took screenshots of the MSSE virus warning.. also I ran the item in sandboxie and saw that it did indeed create the bad files. It made copy explorer and services executables. At the same time it gave the appearance of just opening one of the included pdfs and a few web pages.

Like I said, I purchased these files and wanted to share them. Everything that I purchased I put online so everyone could benefit from them. I didn't get any virus alerts when I opened the .exe file. Perhaps it's a false positive, I'm not sure.
