Everything works until I try to go to the configurable usb loader on the menu screen of my wii, it goes black, then after a little while loads the main screen again.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
The seagate 500gb will work however it will not work with the cfg loader, the only way to get it to work is to format the whole drive to wbfs and run uloader from homebrew to boot the games. Uloader is not as pretty as cfg loader but it does have the option to install cover pics and change setting etc

I read the whole TUT which is wonderful BTW and everything works great! My only issue is that the games are playing in black and white. Is there anything I can do?
Thanks!

This is false because I know a few people that use a 500GB Seagate perfectly fine with CFG Loader.

Hi, was just wondering how to take save files from games I have played thorugh the CFG loader so I can take to my mates and transfer to his wii/cfg loader.
The reason for this is so I can play games from a saved point (lol obviously duh :-P) than starting over again.
Thanks in advance

The same way you would transfer a normal game save (use SD card and copy via Data management>Save Data).

well I guess it only works with various seagte 500gb hd's as I have tried everything to get mine to work as well as a few friends, maybe its a fake as I live here in China who knows... But the only way I was able to get games to run is to format the drive to wbfs and use uloader

My brother has a 1TB Seagate and he has to turn the Wii on first then unplug the power to the device then plug it back in for the USB loader to find it. Maybe try doing this to see if it works.

This is normal. It is because of how manufacturers use the base 10 to account for each byte (the way it should be). In essence, 1000MB equate to 1GB. This is perfectly sensible. Widows OS, on the other hand, considers 1024MB as 1GB. Hence, the discrepancy in size between the advertised and actual size of the hard drive.

Hi all,
Q: Why when I use Wii Backup Manager to convert iso to wbfs, my iso file has 4.3 gb and the conversion is done for 1 gb?
I've uncheck from the winrar the association, and the icon for iso is not associated to any app.
It's happening to 12 of my wii backup iso games.

This is normal.
All Wii Game ISO's should be 4.37GB. When you convert them to WBFS files the application will delete all the junk data. All it keeps is the actual game data. So the end result size of the WBFS file may very depending on how much actual game data is on the game.

I use GeeXbox to play AVI files from the USB Device. Just set up GexXbox add the AVI files to the USB Device and play using it.

Thanks Larry for the great tutorial. I'm currently working on a friends WII and have followed your instructions step by step, I first tried instructions that led up to installing homebrew, Cios, neogamma, wads... After completing and tried to open up Neo gamma it would just go to a black screen and remote shut off. I found out he has one of the new ones (LU39..) so I proceeded to your next step to install backup loader. Now its all installed and I'm having the same problem, when I open up USB Loader from the start up menu it also goes to a black screen and remote shut off. Is there a fix for this? As I mentioned, I followed your instructions step by step and completing all successfully. Thanks

Your doing something wrong if it is not working. Make sure you follow the guides WORD FOR WORD. Also make sure your using a compatible USB Device.

Yes instructions was followed word for word. The problem is not the USB device, the problem is getting the Wad to start. When I open it up from my start menu the screen goes black and the wii remote is shut off. It also happens when I attempt to open up neogamma.

By the way I followed the same steps on an older Wii and its working fine.
I'm still having problems with the newer WII that my friend got for Xmas, starting with LU39

Don't know what to tell you. You didn't do something right or something different. I can't magically make it work for you. You need to find out yourself what you have done different.
