I've pretty newbish with wiihomebrew, and have been reading up on these and checking youtube for tut vids, but i'm still not clear on which one I should use. I have a wasabi zerowii 3.4u fw, and I don't have the homebrew or anything on it, which is what I want to put on there.
I've read that both hackmii and banner does this, and for many fw versions, but I can't tell if one is better for my system than the other. I just plan on having homebrew and some emulator wads, etc. I typically never ever connect the wii online, unless I find out it's necessary for some critical update in order to run certain titles and such.
Agree totally to use Larry's last guide. In the last week, have updated 3 units from 3.2 to 4.1 using his guide. Not 1 problem encountered. So simple a caveman could do it. As long as the caveman can read.
Ok, so I got the homebrew loaded and trying to install wads are giving that 2011 ticket error, so i'll us the downgrader to bypass that.
And I really am reading up on wads and channels and such, but I can't find anything specific that explains the differences on how the wii loads/stores data of this type.
My question is, do I have to run wads from SD/usb cards, or can they be permanetly loaded into the wii's memory? From what I take, it has to be in the form of a virtual channel, but what is the limit to these, and around how much space does the wii have to do this?
And since the wad loader fails on the wads I have until I fix it, what exactly does it do? Just temporarily loads the wads from the SD card, or actually dumps them into the wii's memory?
