Sorry to do this but I am taking down all of my guides.

My original post for the reason I am doing this has been edited. Most of this stuff can be obtained by doing some research.

There are some here that have a good handle on the scene so hopefully someone else will step up to the plate and resume where I have left off.

Its been a nice ride and hope the best for all.

dvd? There is no dvd im just trying to load it from my sd card the dvd dumper that is. I downloaded the apps folder/put it on my sd card/ loaded home brew channel/clicked dvd dumper/loading....never gets past 74 %. May be i should just format the sd card and re download it and put it back on there and see what happends.

If you use the WiFi option it will make an ISO on the PC. If you use SD/USB device option it splits the backup into pieces and you need to use the program to add the pieces together to make the ISO.

This stuff is old. USB loader is 1.5 now and CIOS is rev 10. Plus there are guides for this already.

Did you even read the guide?

This has nothing to do with USB Loader it has to do with DVD Dumper.

My opinion is cIOS36_rev9 is more stable then rev10. That is why I used rev9 instead of rev10.

I included cIOS36_rev8 for those that want to use a USB Ethernet Adapter.

The old guide used cIOS37 not cIOS36 that is why I have updated and posted this new guide.

So before flapping your lip read the guide. If you think it is old get off your ass and make your own guide. Till then keep your stupid comments to yourself and let those that actually contribute to this site "with guides" contribute to the site.

@cac
Use IMGBurn to burn the ISO files. You can get it HERE and it is free.

You can play online. As long as you have a cIOS and Homebrew Channel you can go HERE to update to 3.4 firmware (if your using DVD Dump and WiiGator then you have a cIOS installed. Make sure you have HBC installed as well before using this guide).

@scoops01

rev8 will install over rev9.

You can use the Internet.

Downgrading should only effect USB Loader. Game compatibility should be the same.

I have no idea if the cMIOS install will work on LU64 units. You will have to do some more research on that.

Yes you need to install cMIOS for GC support. But I do not know if that is safe on LU64 systems.

when I try to backup my games through usb it always gets an error. Can anyone help with this? Its my external HD plugged into my wii. Does it have to be formatted a certain way possibly?

I've just been doing it over wifi but i'm starting to wonder if this is completely safe. And also it goes very slow for me haha.

So my question is..Why can't I backup my games to my HD and is wifi completely safe?

sorry if I sound like a noob guys I just did the softmod and i'm quite new to the wii scene :]

Some users have had allot of issues trying to get the USB mass storage method to work. It is probably a USB compatibility issue.

Try updating the cIOS to cIOS38_rev12 (just redownload the file above and follow the instructions for cIOS38_rev12 to update it). After you update the cIOS try again.

Another method for game backups is using a USB Loader. Use a USB Loader to format your USB storage device to WBFS and rip the game to the WBFS USB device. Then connect the USB Device to your PC and use a program like WBFS Manager to extract the game off the WBFS formated device. You will need cIOS36_rev9/rev10 or cIOS38_rev12 to use a USB Loader.

thanks i'm probably going to try this method very soon with my external HDD. that should be fine right? I think I read somewhere the wii is prone to certain brands or something?

Anyway..after I use usb loader to format my HD to WBFS, will I be able to play it off my HD? USB loader the program that allows you to play backups directly from your storage device?

Thanks
