Guys,
Can anyone help me here?
I?m very new to Wii, I just bought one for my son and the sales man told me it is a Korean made (NTSC & PAL) and it doesn?t need any hardware modifications to operate downloaded software. I followed few of the posts and guides but I only found the ones for EUR and USA. Are there any specific guide for the Korean one?
Thanks,

Although I did have a question about a friends wii I helped him out with.
his firmware was 4.1u I read that this method still works for that firmware. When I get to the Downgrade IOS35 I run the .wad and can select ios35 in the list but once I hit "A" to go to the next step and select the sd as the source the wii freezes. I noticed that the wiimote lights go out as if they lost contact with the wii... what should I do? I have checked and there is a solid network connection. I noticed that the wii will still play an original wii sports but I think we just got a black screen when we tried to play an original call of duty 4.
PLease Please any info would help a bunch I feel bad like I might have screwed up a good friends wii ..
anyone? thanks! ..
Mind over matter

How are you installing it WAD or Network?
The default setting is set to WAD Install. If you don't have IOS38-64-v3610.wad at the root of the SD card and it is set to WAD Install then you will get an error.
If you want to use WiFi then at the part you select what install method to use press the right D-Pad arrow 1 time to change it to Network Install.

Did you follow the first part of the guide to downgrade and patch IOS35?
Did you try the Network install?

Try reformatting the SD Card to FAT32 again. If that doesn't work try using a different SD Card.

Yes WiiConnect24 can be on.
As of now the guide is for 4.1 firmware. When a new firmware comes out wait and see what the effects are to softmodding before updating it.

Hi All. Greetings fr Singapore! :)
Anyw i will need help from all of u here.
I jus bought a wii, 3.4u and it comes with homebrew channel and wiigator gamma 0.3
I jus got the WM+ as well and hope to try our Will Sports Resort.
I tried burning the game and it gives the 002 error, so i reckon i will need neogamma R6.
I read it all up but jus couldnt get a word of comfirmation for my qns:
1) Can i jus install neogamma fr the SD card?
2) Part of the guide says:
Quote: IF YOUR WII IS 4.0 OR BELOW AND ALREADY SOFTMODED (with cIOS36_rev8 or higher and homebrew channel) ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS UPDATE TO 4.1 USING THE NINTENDO SERVERS (how you normally would update). THEN INSTALL THE IOS60PATCHED.WAD. IF YOU WANT THE TRUCHA BUG FIXED THEN RUN IOS DOWNGRADER UNDER THE EXTRA STEPS SECTION!
how do i check if mine comes with cIOS36_rev8? and how do i install the IOS60PATCHED.WAD? Thru a wad manager?
3) How do i get a WAD manager installed as well?
All i want is to play my Sports resort without any glitches.
Pardon me if i sound noob here or anything. . thanks!!!

yes they do, i have a 4Gb and a 256Mb. The 256 is for the applications and loading wads, and the 4Gb back-up channels/saves etc.
Both formatted as fat32 and both work fine.

Onslaught questions still unanswered. I can not get my Onslaught to load it just goes to a black screen. Does anyone know when installing a wad file using wad manager which ISO to choose when installing a particular file because 249 doesn't seem to work for everything. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Yup Yup

249 is the IOS that you should use to install stuff. You use an IOS with the trucha bug.
And if other games work then you should probably acquire Onslaught from another source.
I just tried it and it works for me.

I'm not familiar with that error.
Did you install cIOS?
If so which revision did you install?
What kind of media are you using?
If you put an original game in and try to load it with Neogamma, what happens?

Hello Everyone:
Big props to Larry with an excellent guide.
Not sure if anyone can help but I followed the guide to the "T", Everthing worked to my knowledge.
Dumped wii sports via Superdump to an 8gb sd card combined the two bins creating an .iso and burned it using imgburn at 3x. Burn process had no probs. When I tried playing the backup using Backup Launcher (neogamma r6) it seamed like it would read but it only displayed a black screen and freeze. Any ideas?
Thanks

So i softmodded my little brothers wii using this guide, but it seemed the sd card didnt work that well cause it took a million tries to get it to use the boot.elf, now i bought a wii (LU38) and i updated it to 4.1U and then i go through the menu and to the sd card and it says one is not in so i insert my SD card to get it to boot, and it just loads the blocks and the screen asking to install stuff doesnt come up, i have tried a sandisk 512MB and a panasonic 6gb sdhc.. neither seem to work... is there something i can do to make my sd card work? or my wii?? or whatever is actually wrong work??? i really dont understand why it wont work, is there a specific brand of sd that works?????? im really losing my mind at this point....
Ready to kill my wii!!

SHAKALU - I think you might be having the same problem as me. I too posted up on here regarding not being able to get the boot.elf to run (bannerbomb) and didn't get a reply.
I also tried different SD cards thinking that was the problem but it wasn't.
What isn't clear in this guide (I can only assume the more experience folk take it as a given) is the extraction of the bannerbomb files.
If you just unzip / un-rar it normally all you will see is a content.bin file. I put that into a private directory as I thought that is what I had to do.
It isn't! I managed to find some info on another board as a guy mentioned using 7-zip to extract the files.
If you use 7-zip you can extract the correct directory structure (it will show a private folder).
If you extract that then you might be ok. It should go as follows:
SDROOT/private/wii/title/aktn/content.bin
Also some people have reported that if that doesn't work (with different versions of bannerbomb) then you changing the aktn to uppercase (AKTN) does the trick.
After I worked that out the the rest of the guide was very easy to follow and plain sailing so good luck!
I am now trying to solve the Wii sports resort problem on mine....I think I have found out how.
