Have you got the right wii for the job in hand (as in not one of the serials that you can't use)?

Also have your tried different banner bombs / upper case thing on different SD cards?

AND are they genuine SD cards (not SDHC converter cards)?

All Wii systems should be able to have the HBC installed. Even LU64/LU65 systems.

I would try another SD Card. Also make sure you try every version of Bannerbomb.

Dumped wii sports via Superdump to an 8gb sd card combined the two bins creating an .iso and burned it using imgburn at 3x. Burn process had no probs. When I tried playing the backup using Backup Launcher (neogamma r6) it seamed like it would read but it only displayed a black screen and freeze. Any ideas?

Thanks
Wii sports resort? Or wii sports. Wii Sports restort is having issues do to it having to play a video before starting. The video crashes modded wii's

It sounds like you don't have something set up properly.

It should at least boot or freeze if it is set up properly. Having it bring up the normal channel blocks makes me think you don't have it set up properly.

You have boot.elf in the root of the SD Card?

Plus you placed the Private folder (Bannerbomb) in the root of the SD card?

If you have a game problem could you please start a new thread.

I don't want this to turn into a I can't get this game booted thread. The questions should be about the softmod guide processes itself.

Do you have any Gamecube Controllers, Memory Cards or USB Devices connected? If so try to disconnect them.

That'd be mii (the guy that modded two wii's with that card). I have no clue as to why Shakalu's machine is so stubborn. His brothers' wii was also reluctant to start the hackmii's boot.elf - he's tried several SD Cards now, both in Fat16 and Fat32 and to no avail. Could it have anything to do with the new 4.1 firmware ?

There have been numerous people that have softmodded perfectly fine on 4.1 firmware. So I doubt that is an issue.

Try to do this.

Format the SanDisk 512mb SD Card as FAT32. Make sure you do not do a QUICK format.

Now download this file HERE and extract it straight to the SD Card root. So all you will have is the private folder and boot.elf at the root.

Now try loading bannerbomb.

Make sure the SD Card is not in the Wii system untill you get to the channel data management. When it says SD Card is not inserted then insert the SD Card.

So i tried the SanDisk 512mb formatted to fat32, with only the files from that download, and when i get to the sd screen through WII/blah/blah/blah/sd and it saying nothing there, then i pop in the sd card and it loads up and shows a bunch of free spaces as if its blank, no freeze, no load. i am totally confused as to why it will not work.

Don't need sound just go slowly and show us exactly what you are doing. Also if you could show us the root of your SD card

He also had troubles starting boot.elf on his brothers' Wii - it took several tries. To me, it'd seem like semi-incompatibility, since it occured inconsistently. How picky is the Wii concerning SD-Cards ?
