Ok i have a ps2 phat and ps2 slim both have the same problem. They won't load discs although the ps2 slim would play one game and that was urban reign. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You need to be more specific.

Are you get 'DRE' Disk Read error, or does the screen just stay black.

If its Disk read error, then clean the lens, or perhaps you need new laser.

In the case "They won't load discs", I assume both PS2 are unable to read game disc. As far as the PS2 phat goes, even if this was the case, the console is not completely useless.

Find a way to boot backed-up PS2 disc (whether if using your own spare ps2 or a friends ps2) and install a homebrew app called free mcboot onto your memory card. Buy a sony network adaptor and a 3.5" hdd (IDE), download a few PS2 ELF file and put everything together; now you have yourself a softmodded PS2 that's able to boot PS2 backups.
