Connect PS2 to full HD lcd TV?

Hi everyone. I just bought a new LG M227WD monitor/TV, full HD, and i want to connect my PS2 to it.
The TV has these connections: DVI-D, HDMI, components, euroconnector, USB and VGA. It also has a freeview tuner. I have it connected to my PC, in case there is something i could do through it perhaps.
After searching in many forums, i got to the conclusion that the best way is through component cables, which i did. But the image is still quite bad though.
Now ive read a couple other things that i would like you to advise me about if you can.
One is something called xploder, is it worth trying that out?.
Also i read about Dscaler, would that help me to get a better image?, how would i use it?.
