HDAdvance - resurrecting an old PS2

My PS2 around 10 years old now and is showing signs of slowness (old age). Sometimes I get disc read errors etc. I researched on the internet about PS2 lasers being bad and fail easily. I love my PS2 and obviously want to keep it going (prolong it's life).



I then found out about HDAdvance. What do you think about HDAdvance? Loading PS2 games from a hard disk drive. It's faster and saves the PS2 laser from wear and tear.



Just wanting opinions and views before I venture out further in one direction.
