HELP WITH MAKING BACK_UP OF ACTION REPLAY MAX FOR PS2

Hello. I am new to modding and I am trying to make a back up of ar max. I had a friend put free mcboot on my memory card and I can patch games with esr patcher and burn them but I can not seem to get armax to work. I downloaded the action replay max evo and burnt it to a cr-r and the intro video will play on my cpu and all of the files are on there but my ps2 will not read it. how can i patch it with esr patcher and get it to work? All help is appreciated. I need details because I am new to this. Thanks a million. James

Armax backup does not work with fmcb 1.8
It will only work with Swap Magic, and its a specifically made to work with Swap Magic.
You can use codebreaker thats patched to work with fmcb 1.8
Just check out my profile, look for 'My Folder'
You will find what you need there
With codebreaker and fmcb , just download this CB_launch.elf file, and place it in your BOOT folder on your memory card.

That way once you launch Codebreaker, set 'disc tray' to 'off' in the Options, Select your codes, Start Game, it will take you back to fmcb 1.8 screen so you can choose what method you want to boot

ARMAX does work with HDloader (and fmcb) if you integrate it into the ISO image of the game. This also makes it very handy, as you can easily modify the ELF files so that each game image is looking for a cheats file in a different place. The advanage of this is that the list of games is always just one game long...no scrolling through 3000 games to find the one you want.
There are dozens of different versions of armax...most are unencrypted; but a few are encrypted, and thus a whole lot harder to mod.

This is true. I just didn't mention it as he didn't say he had a FAT PS2, and its also a lengthy process to integrate into an ISO
It is just simpler to use Codebreaker.

Exactly what file do i download? I do not see cb_launch.elf. What do I do when I download it. Sorry for the trouble. Thank you

smokyrain, major props to you on this stuff. You seem to have a deep knowledge of the PS2 that i don't see very often on hear (LOL i wait for /ban now)
anyway, the exploit you spoke of will it work on my v15. Thanks for correcting me on an earlier thread. seems v12 WAS last PS2 to support open usb with codebreaker/gameshark/ action replay max.

The fmcb 1.8 will work on your V15, yes

I know I prefer to use this CB_launch.elf as it then lets you use whatever application you want to load your game.
