seeing as how ps2 memory cards are slowly disappearing i tried searching around on if it was possible to copy PS2 save files on to PC.

i learned about ulaunchelf and how it allows file management on the PS2...
but i've been having trouble figuring out how to start it up.

so far i've burned the ulaunchelf440.iso on to a CD and tried starting it up but nothing.

am i missing something?
some one explain the process to me.

my ps2 (slim) is hard modded with the infinity mod chip (1.93) by the way.

I would just create the CD yourself, heres the full tutorial on creating the CD.

http://freemcboot.psx-scene.com/disc.php

Then just check the user guides on the actual installation etc.

There is an easier way though to transfer memory card saves in future, just get a memor32 card. 32mb of save storage + has a mini USB interface so can just move save files to your computer and put them on memory card etc.

(ps2 games on cd still worked though).
what am i doing wrong?

You can install uLe through the method posted in the Matrix Infinity tutorial
http://sksapps.com/index.php?page=matrix/matrix_tut.html

Or just download the 4.38 image
For DVD burn it at 4x, and for CD burn at 16x

How to use uLe

That should help you out

sorry for the very late reply.

so would the 4.38 version just work without the need to install the infinity manager, or do i need to install the manager then use that to install uLe?

also i forgot to mention that another modder told me that my infinitychip was a fake, but it can still boot up to the infinity menu, and yes it boots ps2 and psx backups just fine.

No worries

You can still just use the 4.38 version burned to disc without installing the manager

If your chip is fake, it will still boot up to the infinity manager.
Modbo modchips are clones of Matrix, but they are not fake
There are fake Matrix out there, and there are pictures so one can tell.

It just means you can't upgrade the firmware.
