How to boot PS2 Emulators with Action Replay MAX?

I have a Silver PS2 Slim and i wanna be able to play MAME on it, and i saw tutorials on how to do it, but i see that i may have to buy ARMax for PS2 as well, can someone explain how do i boot MAME on a ps2 through Action Replay before i buy it?

YOu could use Swap Magic also to boot ELF files, or have someone install fmcb 1.8 to a memory card

The Armax that was able to load emulators is very hard to find and expensive.
