I recently bought a ps2 original harddrive off of ebay To install on my ps2 SCPH-39001. I connected the Adapter SCPH-10281 and hardrive to my ps2. And it was detected. But like a dummy i did not check the jumpers. It had 2 hooked up 1 in the first vertical post then 1 in the next 2 top post horizontal. Well i started seeing a electral type arcing light flashing through the slots on the front. As if something on the MO was overheating. I turned it off. and started looking online and found that the master position for the jumper was the second slot vertical? Now, no matter what i get that overheating arc light. Once i take the HDD out everthing is fine. Can anyone explain whats causing the arcing on the MO and tell me the right position for master setting? Please help, i am a newbie.

You would know because it would be on fire. That's a pretty good indication.
