So I know its an old system and not too many people are probably still even thinking about PS2's but I need some help. Ive had my PS2 for about 4 years and never had a problem with it till last night. I got a new game and ended up playing it for most of the night. I went to save it in the morning and it said that there was no memory card in the slot. I know there was sufficient space cause I had to select a save slot when I started playing. So at first I figured maybe the reader slot wasnt working so I put in my other card and it said that there was insufficient space on the card. So that was it, the first card had to have just stopped working. So even though I didnt want to leave the console on I really didnt want to loose hours of game play. So I left it on for a few more hours till stores opened and I could buy a new card. I got the new card home put in the console and save my game. It worked just fine. When I turned the game on later it loaded up and worked just fine. Now after playing for a while tonight I went to save my progress on the new card nd Its saying there isnt a card inserted again even though it still knows that my other card is full. So now the only conclusion is that some how my PS2 is responsible for destroying memory cards. Is this even possible, and has anyone ever heard of such a problem? If so what causes it and is ther anything I can to do fix it short of purchasing a new PS2? Thanks

Nick

Did you try Slot 2 of your PS2. See if that works any better.

I know some games don't like third party memory cards or anything bigger than 8mb Sony

Is it a slim or FAT PS2? Your memory card/controller port could be bad and need replacing.
