Hi, I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong section.

I just noticed one of my PS2 controllers pins are missing. What I mean by this is, in this image: http://blog.makezine.com/ps2_controller_pinout.jpg You can see 9 pins.

However, my controller looks like this: http://www.guitarheroparts.com/pdfs/PS2Pinout.jpg with 8 pins

Do I have anything to be concerned about? Did PS2 change its design somewhere along the line?

Just wondering. Thanks for the input!

after reading your post i went and checked my ps2 controller and its only got 8pins.I brought it in march 09 new and it works great and its a proper sony PS2 controller(never opened it or tampered with it either).guess thats just the way they make them.
