was wondering getting ready to but a ps2 w/online adapter(my goal is to play games off hdd like XBOX)(tired of getting up and swaping games//yes i am lazy SO WHAT)can i just buy the adapter or do i have to get the whole unit as one. are the hdds unique to one another or can i just grab hdd and put it in my ps2? guy is selling whole unit for 50.00 but i only got 75.00 to play with.found the action replay max for 25.00 on ebay.

Yep I understand that. I have a couple hdd for my PS2.
You can buy the adapter, then buy a hdd. The HDD has to be IDE, most Maxtor or Seagate work fine with the adaptor.
