Hi all, I moved from Europe to USA and I took my PS2 (slim console) with me.
My problem is the following:
My PAL PS2 is able to receive either 220V or 110V, I have 2 TV in my actual home, 1 LCD and 1 Plasma.
By connecting my PS2 to the LCD TV everything work fine.
By connecting to my Plasma TV I've a black/white screen, no sound and the screen is way down and to the right.
Somebody can help me for that?
Thanks

Do you have a modchip installed at all. If yes then that should fix the problem.
Otherwise I believe you need to use Component cable, and switch setting in PS2 from RGB to Y Pr Pb mode for the Plasma TV.

Ok on your PS2 in Browser, you need to click on 'System Configuration'
Then scroll until you see Component Video out, then press X and change it from RGB to Y Pr PB mode

I use it on my HDTV as my PS2 is NTSC and that way I can have PAL.
It up too you, if you want to try it or not.
I googled it and that is what some others have found to try.

Ok I will try HDMI because my actual Plasma TV doesn't have the component plug, it has only AV and HDMI

Are you sure your plasma TV doesn't have any settings to change the signal, or you would think it would change it automatically?
Or you might need a PAL to NTSC HDMI Video Converter. I have no idea how much they are.

Sorry smokeyrain, I found a Y,Pb,Pr,L,R at the back and in the mean time look at this link if that is what you talking about component cable.
http://www.amazon.com/Component-2fV-Cabl...81888830&sr=8-1
Now about HDMI, I looked on actiual PS2, there is NO HDMI outlet, only an optical output which i guess its only for audio right?
All that to say if this cable is the good one, i will have to buy it. But all this let me perplex about the reason this Europeen PS2 works fine on a US TV LCD HD and NOT on a US Plasma HD?

Its the same one I use on my HDTV
Now for HDMI, no there isn't any on the PS2, that is where you would need a tuner/converter

Quite pricey I think.
You can try the component cable and see if the signal will change, like it does for me on HDTV.
Ok I will buy one and let you know...Again thanks for your advises.

I bought the cable but unfortunatly still no screen at all, when I select my component channel, said "No Signal"
(I selected Y/Pr/Pb on the PS2 before by using the LCD TV on which it work fine with a RGA connection)
I'm lost now, what is the next step?

Ok on your Plasma TV does it have Y/Pr/Pb setting also, and not just say Component.
That is what I have to select.

Ok not sure then what problem is. You may have too just use your LCD tv then, or buy one of those HDMI convertors, and use your Component cable with that.

The product definitely works to convert the PS2 using component cable to HDMI
I am pretty sure if your Plasma TV outputs as PAL and NTSC that it should work.
I can only speculate on what I have heard from others. Thats the best answer I can give.

You should have a manual with it that would show if it displays in 50hz PAL or 60 hz NTSC
Or google your model number for specs.
