Hi,
To anyone who may be able to help me.
I have just aquired an older ps2 model number scph-10000 (japanese model as I live in japan at the moment). It plays games no problems. Upon attaempting to play a dvd I get the error "DVD player is not set up".
My ps2 has not been tampered with or modded in any way. Yes, I have tried 15 dvds, correct region, incorrect region nothing works. After a little research I found out that this model did not ship with a a dvd player on its internal ROM chip, instead the dvd software came on a cd-rom which was to be copied onto the supplied 8mb memory card and then the playstation would utilise the software from the memory card to play the dvd. I have checked the "Version" information on the ps2 by pressing the traingle button and while a cd player version appears there is no dvd player version. I have the playstation, and I have the memory chip, but I cannot seem to find anywhere a place to down load the dvd player software that shipped with the original cd-ROM that came with the original unit (and no I do not have the CD).
Can someone diect me to where I can download this software? Also
Once i have the software how do I get it from my pc to the memory card? can I somehow use the usb port on the ps2 to transfer the file(s) acroos?
thanks in avance,
Dominic
You could try calling Sony about it. If it's a software issue, I'm sure they'll be willing to fix it for you, even if it's for a last-gen console. (I mean, heck, look at how well it's doing even now.)
