So... I have no clue with what is wrong with my ps2 slim ( the one with a power box) <y bud has the newer slim and swap magic will work just fine but when I try and do the very same thing it will load but after it takes 30 seconds then the game is really slow, ESR games work fine but now its with cd's too and sometimes it will not even boot them it will take forever then take me back to the free mc boot screen can somebody tell me whats wrong with my ps2 and oh if this helps it also has a phone jack on it as well as the Ethernet jack.

First try cleaning your laser with a q-tip and 'rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl)'
Clean in a circular motion for about 30 secs, then using dry end of q-tip, do the same for about same time.
Do not have q-tip dripping wet.

If that doesn't help, are you using the same discs that work on the newer slim?
If not, then perhaps its the brand of disc your using, or the speed you burned it at.
