Hello, I'm really new around here, I've been on here countless number of times before to find answers to my own problems, but finally ran across something that I couldn't find. So please don't flame me if this
I have free mcboot installed on my memory card. And to my understanding, free mcboot doesn't work on CDs, and usbadvance has to be burned to a CD, not a DVD. I DON'T have swap magic. That being said, is there any way for me to use usbadvance?
And also, I heard there's a way to boot usbadvances from the memory card, is this true? If so, how?
Thanks in advance!

Thank you SO much! I'll try this out as soon as I get home tomorrow :D
I have no idea why I didn't run across this while looking on sksapps and googling :)
I forgot to mention that my ps2 is slim, but seeing that you posted something that's USB, I don't think that should make a difference.

These work on slim or FAT ps2.
You just need a compatible USB external drive. The ones that come with a power plug (wall plug outlet) are best and is good if you can find a drive that is USB 1.1 backwards compatible, because the PS2 is only USB 1.1
And the USB drive needs to be formatted as FAT32 in order for it too work.
But there you go. have fun.

The only game I played so far that the video lagged was Xenosage 2, and it wasn't even compatible before.
I also never had to patch it, but the gameplay was fine.
Other games I have tried play just as good as my hdloader and ide hdd.

They will work, I am just saying because the PS2 is 1.1, its better if the USB drive is 1.1 backwards compatible.
Lots of people have just bought USB 2.0 because thats all there is pretty much anymore.
It just won't run at USB 2.0
Back when I bought mine, it was easier to find both types.

Okay, hopefully my last question. Will PAL games work with usb loader without needing to patch anything, or no?

Depends if the PAL game has a screen adjustment or 50/60 hertz selector
Just use the adr patcher 0.5 to patch them if they don't work.
Unless you have a hdtv that supports PAL/NTSC then no you don't need to patch them.

Thanks again! But I'm still a bit confused. By formatting the HDD as FAT, I can no longer see it in My Computer (I Have XP). So I tried using USBUtil, it's not showing it either. But programs like WinHIIP shows it. Any idea how I can use USBUtil on it?

What type of hdd is it? It is a USB external drive?
Format it as FAT32 using the winextreme utility - link

It's in an enclosure. It's a Maxtor HD, I checked, and I'm pretty sure the HD is compatible. The enclosure is CompUSA. (SKU 333114
I formatted it with the program you told me to, and then created a game from an ISO using USButil 2.0, which I set the output directory to the HD.I put USBloader on my flash drive, booted it with uLaunch.elf, no problems. But USBloader won't show me the HD at all.
The HD is FAT32, I can see the ISO there, It's Kingdom Hearts, which, I believe, is compatible without patching it. The enclosure also has its own power source. I'm pretty sure that USBloader is working properly; it shows the menu, the CD picture under the categories that either says "No files" (or something of the sort, can't remember right now) or "Demo Only".
I'm just REALLY confused on what I did wrong right now. I can now see the HD (thanks for that) in My Computer, but I can't see it when I plug it into the PS2.

If your game installed correctly it will show up under the 'Game list'
Sometimes I have to turn the hdd off, then on again to detect the games.
