I'm a former PS3 owner, but after completeing all the games that I loved on ps3, I sold it.
Now about a month has passed and I am thinking that I would like to play some older Playstation games, so I figured I'd buy myself a playstation 2.
I could be wrong at any statement here, so feel free to correct me. But after doing some research, I found out that buying a FATplaystation 2 and adding a harddrive would be the best way to play backup PS2 games without burning cds.
Before buying a ps2 I would like to know a few things?
1. Which PS2 model would you recommend?
2. Which PS2 "mod" method do you prefer and why?
3. Are there any decent sites in Europe that sell premodded PS2 consoles?
4. Do playstation 2 wireless controllers work well?
Cheers, thanks and have a wonderful weekend everyone!
i have had two scph-39001 fat ps2s and theyre both pretty nice i dont use the lasers much but the system fan seems quiet and they work well playing games from the hdd also I use a ps2 wireless logitech controller it works wirelessly with my softmodded ps2 and modded ps1

1. Any fat (older) PS2 would do, they are all vulnerable to the exploit in 2 below.
2. "Free MCBoot" (FMCB) hands-down. It's a soft-mod, don't even need to open the machine, enables homebrew right away.
4. I have a pair of Logitech's that are supposed to be the best. They work great, but I can notice a tiny lag. For action/fighting games where you're just banging on the fire button, they will work great. I did have a racing game that relied on fraction-of-a-second reflexes, and had to resort to a wired controller to beat the hardest levels.
