No need to have a usb port as after the initial first flash the rest where done over the net direct to the box.
what happened to your signature e45???, that was a superb, idiot proof guide.

It is the date above that info that you are looking for. It should be 03/01/2011 or later.

Anything after Jan 2011 firmware which is only 2 of them the 03012011 file which was released and the 24032011 which was a direct download to the box which was not released if you have any of them files on your box your good to go if not you need to flash the 03012011 file on it

aye that will do ya

factory default your box fully >> menu >> installation >> factory default >> 0000>>> ok

then when box reboots bottom option auto scan press ok then put your provider on top leave the next box set to NETWORK press GREEN button then leave it to scan a list of networks for you to choose your correct one

After you find you area id press ok and let the box scan MAKE sure you scan on DIRECT feed only then yur channels should come in after channels come in then you attach your ethernet cable from your router to your box

i know the box does it auto...but i wanted to configure it maanually...as sometimes i have a conflicting ip adds on the network...for example one of my laptops and kv box will end up having the same ip adds....hence the reason for manual option.

I have the kv connected to router via lan, but i also have 5 other pc/laptops connected to same router via lan and wireless...so i get conflicting ip adds sometimes.

you should not get any conflict as the router will allocate ip addys for each item added regardless so you should not get any conflict i have a boxes and pc running with no problems and they are all given there own individual ip address

never get that meself to be honest as the router should have a routing table already with them ip allocated to the individual items
