Have you flashed the box, i.e. Put Firmware on it, until you do you will not get them, go to the 1st Page of this thread and follow the guide by HiTeck, what you need/how to/and the firmware is there also, and it is down in simple illustration/language for you.

yeah mate just bought 1 of those 7000 hd+'s,i got a free 2gb pen drive with mine.What i did was download the filmware onto it(you'll find it on the first page of this thread),plug the pen drive into the back of the box go into the menu scroll to the symbol to the far right(usb sign) go in there and download it from the pen drive.then it might still say scrambled channel but give it a few seconds and it should kick in.Also give it a few seconds when flicking between channels it takes a second or so to change over.

doogieh downloaded firmware but not only cant I open the file on my computer bit I've dragged it onto the pen & when I put it in the box nothin downloads either what am i doin wrong. sorry to be so thick

alrite clunk,don't try and open the filmware,just put it on the pendrive,i'll just let u know that i've not got the box infront of me as i work away from home so it'll be just from mrmory.the menu you go into for the fast install,don't go into it,just scroll across to the far right u'll see a usb sign(looks like the end of your pendrive).anyway you'll see the file name on the screen i think u press enter then u'll see that the options that show you what each colour on your remote mean changes.I think it says something like tubup(green) tubdn (yellow),u'll notice you've got up and dn for down, i clicked tubDN figering it was for download and it worked.if you can't get i sright away just mess around with it,if i can do it you can do it,thats how i got it to work lol.As i say i'm doing it from memory it might not say tubup/tubdn but its definetly got up&dn after it i'm just struggling to remember if anyone else can "chip in" i would be a help cheers

dont wanna be thick or anything else i love tis forum especially the firmware guides that our senior members-(hitech) have so genioursly spent there time giving to us newbies, but why cant users start a new thread for their posts as this thread is for firmware flashing etc and i as a dedicated user of this forum have subscribed for new updates for this thread and am getting numerous emails to my inbox which have nothing to do with this thread. PLEASE leave this thread as is was meant for -Dedicated to hitechs work

Have you definately got a NULL MODEM lead, as it been used before? - just go to the 1st page of this thread and make sure that you are doing everything correctly, and a lot of people have trouble with Vista, but if you are going direct from PC with the correct 9 pin serial port and just a NULL MODEM lead with OS-XP you should have no problem.

have 2 null modem cables not used before i have studied the 1st page
tried under xp with 9 pin serial port on old computer still same result waiting for response from receiver tried changing ports still same result all the time any ideas greately appreciated!!!!

You can try a force flash then and see if you can get it that way, "Unplug the box and press DOWNLOAD and then re-apply the power to the boxm plug back in) give it a couple of goes that way, if no joy then it looks like the cables are not NULL MODEM, could possibly be straight through serial cables.

You would be better advised to return for replacement, wouldn't advise you to take the lid off at this stage, it's still under warranty, beyond that I have not heard of that problem affecting the EX7000HD. (Have you got the latest Firmware on it) (main_090122.tbn)

Hi there,
I'm having some trouble setting up a EV ex5100. I've downloaded the most recent firmware as referenced at the beginning of this thread. I've connected my laptop to the box using the RS232 cable I got with the box, but when I try to run the firmware, after I hit 'Download', the start screen appears, and it just keeps alternating between COM1 and COM3 but nothing happens. If I select start I get a screen that says,
'The receiver was not detected... If you want to download the firmware in the boot mode...' etc.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated, because I'm slowly being driven mad trying to set this thing up.

Hi all,
Ive been told that anyone with a Eurovox box will not be able to view channels or through any other brands as everything is being upgraded by the end of this year.
Is this true?... If so, will there be firmware available??

Have you got access to an older PC with a 9 pin connection that will accept the nul modem cable?
I wasted £10 buying an RS232 to USB cable last week to try and update a box from a laptop because I didn't have access to a PC, did everything as per instructions, same problem as you, couldn't lock on a port.
If you use the nul modem from 9 pin to box, runs smoothly, I've done loads of Max V 2008, 1000SL and 5000, never a problem.
