Have had the box for 3 days. On day one all worked well. However, for some reason the remote stopped working. Changed batteries and it eventually started to work again.

Today I've come home and all of a sudden the remote wont operate the box at all. Checked that a signal is coming from the remote (held it against a camera lens and pressed buttons)and found it was. Tried turning the box off at the wall and turning back on again - No difference.

Anyone else suggest what to do?

have seen something sim before, lift the box and give it a little shake, if you hear anything rattle could be the IR sensor could be a bit loose or the connection is loose

Tried shaking. No noise. Took it apart. All looked ok. Didn't take the pcb off the inside front of the box though. Any other suggestion?

Is that a hardware fault or a software one?

I tried waggling the remote all around in different positions.

Sounds to me like a case of phoning the supplier and getting a replacement - Yes ?

sounds like the sensor on the box is not getting a signal or a loose joint somewhere, is the connection tight coming from the IR sensor on the box per chance? give yer supplier a shout and see if they can replace it for you

No trapped wires. Nothing untoward looking. Connection to main board waggled and connection ensured. Wires not trapped on front fascia. Contacting supplier now.

No response to email and no answer to phone calls. Hoping tomorrow is a better day!

I suspect that since the fault has developed it is probably due to a dry solder joint. Not going to mess with that as I would rather have it replaced/fixed within warranty.

Only thing that I havent tried is reflashing the box, but to me, the problem sounds hardware vice software related. Also, if it had been software, someone on here would have already told me to reflash!

I stand corrected. There was a cover on it, that was, as you say, hardly noticeable.

I've removed it and......No difference!

Have changed batteries again....No difference.

I've powered off (for 15 mins) and on again....No difference.

Have done both of these things - Remote flashes. No signs of loose wires.

Emailed them twice. Phoned them several times, but only answered once. A lady said she would get 'Scott' to call me back when he got back - That was several hours ago.

All other electricals, except laptops turned off - No difference. Worked OK on Saturday with laptops on.

Managed to contact Scott tonight via phone. He on.asked me to email him with transaction details and he agreed to send a replacement remote. If that wasnt the problem, he told me to send the box back and he would send a replacement.

I've had an electronics expert have a quick look. He proved the remote was working and looked at the box innards. He thinks that there is a dry joint on one of the connections from the sensor to the circuit board - showed up under a magnifying glass. Didn't want to try to fix it myself as if that wasnt it, it would have probably invalidated the warranty.

Am going to ask Scott to cut to the chase and ust send me a replacement and I'll return the faulty one. I'll let you know how I get

So, all I have had today so far is an automated email. I have sent a chaser. I wait with baited breath!
