there must be a technical hitch somewhere so they have had to bring some of the back well that is my way of thinking but i would say it will be short lived until they fix the problem

Its actually back through the subbed boxes also. Ive seen this before. They allow a few channels on over the B/H weekend to lure punters in and sign up for more bucks.

Now why would anyone want to have a server set up in the country that they are looking to have boxes in that would be daft just like the way Starview was caught.
Servers should be put in a non EU country out of harms way

Sorry E if you misread my post, which stated servor FOR Eire, not IN Eire.
I'm not aux fait enough with cable systems to know if a server could be set up in say
Iceland for a cable account in EIRE, bearing in mind that UPC-Eire signal is not transmitted to Iceland. But I imagine a server could be set up across the border in
Northern Ireland in range of mmds signal from Eire. I'm sure someone on here with more
knowledge will enlighten me. Don't forget, E, the small words are often more important
than big one's. Slainte

Would it not be legally difficult for UPC-Eire to close down a server operating from a
different juristiction. Would they not have to invoke european law, which can be very
slow & cumbersome. Not to mention appeals to Strasbourg which can take for ever.

i did say out side of the EU did i not on the server
also the uk is a different kettle of fish hooter there cable conforms to standards where upc in ireland do not and that is the biggest problem thats why when starview was here it only worked on dublin and not the rest of the country as well.

No nothing as yet, not even a whisper. If you have sat dish you could look at DM500s & C/S

Yes, perfect. You also need to connect DM500s to router to connect with C/S server
