Point taken Mickah, but im still a fan of the the dreambox.
As long as the lads keep doing the fixes im happy and very much appeciate their work, and that of the www.AFTERDAWN.co.uk site..
Westhan... lets not keep reminding ourselves of the N3 thing and just watch some nice telly.
What the hell happened to Discovery Turbo ??.Dmax ?? not good.

Sticky Bump!

go to the link in my sig and get dreamup from the dreambox folder, get the dk1.1 image, and download it to the box using dreamup (if you have a null modem cable).
If not you'll need to do it via ftp (file transfer protocol) using a lan crossover cable.
Consoles:

winrar will unzip both files you should then have dreamup.exe and dw11.img
open dreamup.exe and select dw11.img (dreamup is the loader) this should start loading (might take 5 minutes to send a 4mb file through a null modem cable) Then it's flashed.

Going to busy a new box soon and its either going to be a Kryptview or Starview 4 USB which has the best supprot and chance for longer life? i'm ntl dub,

No one can answer you how long they will last.
Kryptview is better support, pic quality and has the least issues over the years its been out, support is second to none
SV 4 - Support is not the best, 4 months for a fix, pic quality is good, can record, but only what your watching or if the chan you record is on the same freq as a chan you want to watch whilst recording
Use the search function, loads of posts covering peoples opinions on them

just want to say BIG tnx to all the addicts who have posted info..i'm in dub on n*l and got the KV750 from s*ywonder..it came with a null cable & connecter!!great stuff..was really worried bout flashin but followed all step by steps & is working perfectly..all in house happy again..hope it lasts. TNX again guys keep up great work..

Well done on the post , its about time someone pointed out the thread hijacking (really gets up my nose) but what i find funny is you put this post up with all the info needed in a couple of simple paragraphs yet within minutes the usual lazy questions pop up .lol
