hiya hooter. nope, rs232/pvr and emulator all on right, 8989 makes no difference. maybe im in the wrong place altogether - i just have acessory highlighted in the menu page and then press the no. but nothin im afraid. im thinkin its cos i have firmware 1.00 flashed to box - maybe i should reflash with GrooveRider_SV6_1.01?

no you are correct with the firmware you have on your box at the moment
also when you pressed 8989 you may have not noticed the emulator appear, and it stays there once activated you do not have to press it again just make sure everything is on in there
once you have in accessory your (rs232/pvr and emulator) thats it there should only be 3 things there and you have them
ps sorry about the delay in reply as my own laptop just broke and im using 1 of these acer mini things with the screen the same size of a slice of bread,ha,ha,lol

Re: Is this box the answer re N3

This box includes access to a C/S server for N3 Ireland, not UK. I guess you can connect to any C/S server, but as the Irish server is included in the price, there is no point in getting one in the UK as you are paying for something that you cannot use.

BTW, some people do refer to C/S as the N3 hack.

I've moved this thread to the starview section.

hmm, I wonder how long that will work for.

Its ok as long as boxes are being sold to support the server but what happens once the market is saturated. Who's going to maintain the subscriptions ?

For Ireland, I think there's somwhere close to 20 transponders so thats likely to be 20 subs required. Plus, the NTL areas will likely still have different card info to the Chorus areas so that could be another 20 subs required.

Dunno what the price of a sub is in Ireland but lets say they average out at 50Euro each (A lot of the cards wont need to be full sub) so thats 40 * 50 = 2000Euro a month just to maintain the subs. If its done properly then you really should double up on cards to prevent certain forms of attack so that could potentially be 4000Euro a month

So, where's that money going to come from once box sales start to drop off ?
the thing hasnt even launched and youve given away a lot of info... please keep it shtum mate.

oh no too late.... :(
how is the market going to be saturated the box lasts a year then you bin it and buy another ,only the guys who set this up will know how many cards are needed and when you flash the box you get the choice of which server you want to connect to
oh and yes its working in uk still a few channels missing though

hooter your right, wlash should use the latest firmware for that box and your correct again when you say there are problems with the S/V server.however the problem seems to be with the box,he is only receving three channels[RTE1, setanta and euronews]to be honest i did not even know the firmware 1.02 he has on his box existed[i dont have the box so im relying of others for information]it does sound as though he is doing something wrong in the setup of the box,for he should have more than three channels, lets hope someone gets him sorted.am of out fishing now will pop back later...

i think grooverider 1.02 is a copy of 1.01 and just renamed
also if he follows clairb's guide he can not go wrong, he must be forgetting to put istream in or over-looking something maybe forgetting to put lan cable in
anyway hope you enjoyed your day fishing

im having similar problems.

im n*l dub, ire.....with ST6 ian (notcombo)

i had the grovve file and all was well apart from missing some channels...so when i saw the guinness i decided to try it (bad mistake)

the update to the guinness seemed to go fine...scanned channels ...all good

but it will not connect. the ian cable input on the back is lighting up and the router is flickering away but it still says "not connected" on all channels

ip is set to auto...and istream....

so only able to watch the 4 or 5 channels

interestingly in the keys section all transponders only seem to have half the keys in...the rest are zeros..(just saying in case it helps solve this)

i did the install like a german tech...

is there a port issue regarding routers?

any suggestions...thanking all

im in edinburgh and it took a few goes but in end i got box working,1st thing to do is upload grooverider file then scan box, then enter 8989 and make sure its on autoupdate then exit til you get tv picture,go to skysports 1,you will get scrambled channel,go back into USb and upload guinness for ireland, carling for uk,then go to menu-options-network-select Ustream(uk) or Istream(ire),then go to Ip set up and make sure network selection at AUTO,exit back to sky sports 1 and wait a few minutes,if it still does not connect, remove LAN cable switch off box then go to usb and upload guinness/carling file again,it may take 1 or 2 goes but it will eventually work.
