happyout,do you have any channels now?also when your box is switched on whats is on the display panel?{front of box}

well e45 I am back !!!

My internet has been up and down this last few days just waiting on the V****N guy now to come and sort it so I have not as yet had a chance to read from the beginning as 'sugested ' by e45 however I did find his reply a bit like being back at school !!!

I always find that if you dont understand something the best and quickest way is to ask those in the know for some help or pointed in the right direction, as its nice to be nice and costs nothing, thats the way I live my life and help people as much as I can when I can, I was only asking what I did to enable me to purchase the correct box either the starview 6 or the HD combo as I have not done that yet and the advice of people who have would help me in this greatly

dont need spoonfed am a big boy and can tie my laces as well

i will work it out for myself....but thanks anyway

To be fair, the amount of times that same queations are asked on here is criminal and for the folks on here who provide a lot of help and answers it gets grating after a while, especially when the answers have been posted time and time agian, some folk wont even bother to read a posts, so if we have a post here covering a topic, we will direct people to it,

cjt you wont learn anything about your box if you dont read this is the only way people will learn more about the working of a box and what it intails to keep it running if you and every other person comes on here gets a quick fix and then goes away and then something goes wrong with your box you will come back here again where as if you have read the post you become more familiar with the working of your box.

As i have said knowledge is power and cost nothing to read

yes they will for a year then you will buy a new box after the year period is up unless you get a kryptview box

sv6 still not working here. its a week now and obviously the server issue wasnt the problem. have done all the usual loads of times now and no joy. its as if the box has been disconnected from the server or something. was working for over a month and now only 3-4 channels appear.
any advice on any possible steps to take next? much appreciated

wlash,under what circumstances did the box stop working in the first place??does your sub when directly connected to tv still work??can you still scroll through all your channels{140+}even though there scrambled??what is displayed on the front of the box??did you insert or remove USB STICK at any stage when box was switched on??can you take this box to a friends house who has the starview aswell{this is what i would do}take your box,scart and lan cables to his house,disconnect his box and connect yours,if it does not work you will have to contact your supplier.if it does work disconnect his cables and try yours to see if it is a cable problem..if you dont know someone with the same box just try it in a friends house.let us know how you get on

thanks reswob i will try the box in a friends house.
it was working then lost few channels (server issue) then last fri lost basically all channels. getting all the sub channels when cable to tv.
i can scroll through all the channels but just says scramble. when i flick the channel at the bottom on the info bar it says NOT CONNECTED. does it say this on other peoples boxes? didnt touch the box with USB or anything until the channels dissappeared and then tried the other files. tried everything by the book. had the channels and nothing was chnged then just went off fri afternoon. thought (hoped) it was the server issue but channels havent come back at all...i will try a friends house and let yee know how i get on. cheers

how is box connected to internet,is it direct to a modem or via a router? if its through a router try thru modem could be problem with router.

wlash,i presume you checked your IP settings?you will find them in your network settings in menu.put it to auto and then press select.these are a series of boxes{ip address,gateway,mask,dns,2nd dns}these should be filled in.[im going by memory here]

I havent failed, Ive found 10,000 ways that dont work.

well me and wlash seem to have broken/unhappy boxes...working as should all good..just wont connected anymore...

as if the box is black listed from severs or somthing...is there a way to find the m a c a d d r e s s for the box...reset it somehow...or somthing...dont really want to have a bookend already...

you wont be able to anything to the mac address on the box as that is hard coded to the box.

What i suggest is you do disconnect all the cables from your box and modem or router factory reset the box fully then do a new flash from the new file on my signiture

then start at the beginning again and se what happens

e45 i have just tried what you said in your last post because i am having the problem as happyout but its still the same the box is still saying not connected,any other ideas because im at a loss now,i have tried everything mentioned in the last 2 pages of posts

you can start again this time try the option below and see will that work for you if you are using a router disconnect it and go direct from modem and see does that work if it does its your router that is the problem

menu/accessory/network
in here you will find a new section called cs Net.( this option will not appear until after you have scanned the box)
ustream for the uk,(istream for eire) then go downto register/ok, registers the cs and away you go for 1 year.
