Help with LG 4120b, backing up DVDs!

Hi guys,

Really need your help here please. I've installed a dvd writer (LG dual layer) to my PIII, 600 computer. So far, I've coastered 7 tdk dvd-r discs, 2 Princo dvd-r discs, and a cd-r. Software I'm using is DVD Shrink, Nero, and DVD Decrypter. Steps I perform are as follows:

- To create a back up image of a DVD, I use DVD Shrink to create ISO image.
- Use Nero to burn image to DVD.

The furthest I got was 97% completion. That's after I've installed the last updates to Nero 6. This output was (of what was written) was great. Just didn't complete.

Errors I've been getting are:
1. From Nero - "reset occurred". This happened after 30 mins of writing. Read all about this error. One of the suggestions was to try DVD Decrypter.
2. From Nero - "illegal disc". Got this error just on 3 minutes of writing.
3. From DVD Decrypter - "Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format". That was after 17 mins of writing. Thought one would get this error at the start.

DVD media that's been used so far are TDK DVD-r and Princo DVD-r. Thought it might be because of the media as two of the three errors above seem to talk about media. However after trying the Princo and getting the same results with both Nero and Decrypter, I'm inclined to believe that this is a HW problem.

In terms of firmware, seem to have the latest one = A102.

Please help! Getting desperate here. Could this possibly be a hardware error?
