While using my asus v9520vs in xp to capture the
only compression option I get is uyvy?
Surely there should be other options like
just straight RGB. I have WDM 1.08 install
but have had newer ones installed but still
can only get a uyvy option. Does anyone who
has an asus v9520vs and xp have more than
the one compression option?
Can anyone help me out?
I want to be able to capture lossless video.

UYVY and RGB are not Compressions they are Colorspaces and UYVY or YUY2 or YV12 are all superior Colorspaces to RGB...
Your compression options would be listed under either "Compression" or "Codecs" depending on the Capture software you are Useing....

If you want to Capture Lossless Video then use a capture software like "Virtual_VCR" and install the "HuffYUV Lossless Codec" and use that to capture your Files..The Files will be Half the Size of Uncompressed Files with the same Quality as HuffYUV is one of the The only truely Lossless codecs that compresses the Video this well....

but what I really need is to capture
video that doesn't blend the two fields
together. UYVY seems to blend the fields
together a little bit. When capturing in PAL sometimes
the fields are across frames. So I need to be
able to capture fields seperately (no blending).
Because when there is blending then when you
watch the video even on an interlaced display, like
a TV, there is ghosting of an objects movements
before the object has moved to that position.
So I need to be able to capture full frames.
I thought that RGB could help with this
but I don't have it available.

The Color Space would have absolutly no effect on the Fields..
Maybe it is Your capture software that is Blending the Fields as many Capture Programs have built in De-Interlacers....

That sounds Like the Field Order is Reversed, which Means that the Second Field of a Frame is being displayed before the first Field..Bad Capture drivers are Known to do this but you can change them to the correct order after Captureing while encodeing to Mpeg as Most good encoders have the option to reverse the Field order....
