I have never heard of fat32, but I have seen NTFS somewhere, I do not know what either is though unfortunately...

This is how your HD is formatted or partitioned. To do video work you need to use NTFS as it will handle up to 10g's or so. You can check your HD out by going to Disk Mgmt. Go to Performance and maintenance > Administrative tools > computer Mgmt > Disk Mgmt. > FAT/NTFS. Right click on drive. When you partition you won't lose anything, if you reformat the entire drive you will. You don't need the entire drive to handle video work, especially if you have 80g's or more.

There is a software called partition magic 8-a free version and a paid version. You can use the free version to partition your drive if it isn't NTFS. In XP you can right click on your drive and do it that way.

I am looking in disc management now,on C drive,37.21 GB NTFS, am i to change anything there?

No, you're fine. One question tho, how much space do you have on your HD? It's only 40 g's (37.21).

When working with video files, some apps along with your files on a large movie can easily take up 15 g's when working with them, that's almost half of a 40g HD!

Back to your original question-UDF stands for Universal Disk Format, an operating system to read and write data stored on media that was created by another operating system. IOW,DVDs are based on the UDF format.

ISO is a file that contains full content of the disc. ISO files can't be used as they are, but they need to be either mounted with tools like Daemon Tools or burned to DVD in order to see what files the disc image actually contains. Decrypter can only burn ISO files.

You said they just appeared after your friend was there? Did he download them or rip them from a DVD? You said you viewed it, does that mean you watched the movie on your PC or looked at the files in the folder?

yes, I meant that I watched the movie and it appeared to be of fine quality video and audio. I think that he ripped it from a DVD, but it is possible it came from bit torrent. I have Daemon Tools, but have been unsuccessful at mounting it so far

I managed to get the image mounted to my virtual drive E with damon tools. then when I open up DVD Shrink and click open disc, it starts to analyse the video then an error occurs and says it cannot read drive E

If it is bit torrent (it is bin/cue files) that is piracy, rule #5 and against the forum rules. I cannot help you. If it was ripped shrink would handle it, shrink doesn't deal with bin/cue files.

I called him and he says it was ripped from a DVD.
I looked in the folder that has it and in it is 3 different items. 1 is the video ts folder, 1 is a picture of a disc that says Nero disc image with the movie name, the other is the same pic. of a disc that says Nero disc image but instead of the movie name, it just says image. is the Nero disc image with the movie name the one that Nero will burn in one of it modes?

I just tried burning the nero disc image, i just double clicked on it and it opened the burner rom and said put disc in. I did, it failed. I am now going to try and attach the log.jon

You guys need to go into your device manager and switch the transfer modes on your IDE/ATAPI controllers from PIO to DMA to start with. That should help with your burn speed problem.

BTW...Might be a good idea to edit your Nero registration numbers out of your posts as well. It's the number that looks like this:
1A23-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx

notburnin, you have InCD installed, You are going to need to remove it. You can find a bunch of Nero utilitys here. Get the InCD clean tool as well as the driver cleaner and registry checker:

notburning, Sorry I took so long, been trying rebuilder/CCE in batch mode,3 movies at once takes a while. You want to burn your VIDEO_TS folder. Frank noticed you have InCD, definitely get rid of it, causes all kinds of problems.

I got rid of the incd, not sure how it got there, but it is gone now, i used the incd cleaning tool too!
