I see on nero 6 that you can use the burning rom to burn dvd's, is there a thread somewhere here that can direct me as to how i can use this to burn my dvd's?

In the interest of saving you some time the next time you have a question -

You never mentioned that you wanted to convert AVI files to DVD. You were given what you requested.
(A lesson learned perhaps ?)

Hey guys, I got hold of that TMPGEnc plus, got it converting but just wondering what the standard time is for the conversion, at the moment it's going to take just over 8 hours to convert my AVI file which is 717Mb, is 8 hours ok or slow?

Depending on your system specs large AVIs such as yours can indeed take several hours :)
