HD loader affect dvd functions of ps2?

I have a copy of the hd loader and will purchase a 120 gig hd. my questions is, with hd lodaer and a hd will that affect the dvd playing abilities of the ps2 or will it work like already does? i still want to be able to play movies when i need. thanks...

it won't affect it at all. your ps2 really won't even know the hd is there (or at least acknowledge it) unless you are running hd loader.
