Ok so heres my dilemma, I have a v9, a flip top installed and just made two diff backups. I made a back up of tony hawk underground and used dvd decryptor read/write burned at 1x but for underground I burnt the .ISO file only. I then burnt a backup of rise to honor using the .ISO & .MDS neither one loaded correctly. As soon as I popped in the jet li game I immediately got the pink border, tony hawk waited a few minutes then ultimately gave me the pink border. So before I waste any more dvd-r's I came here to see if anyone could help me out

it still could be the media, a lot of people have troubles with memorex. Id say try a good brand like ritek or verbatim and see if you still get the same problem with those games. you will eventually need cd or dvd loader, so might as well get it. http://www.swapmagicfix.com

that game doesn't require cd loader (only the ones listed on the site need it). Try better media like i suggested, and it will probably work.

So far it has been 50 50 with the backups, I have made 2 succesfully now but alot of coasters as well. when I decrypt using dvd decryptor would the buffer have anything to do with the way it gets read, maybe prevent it from not playing once it is burnt? Im going to backup a ton of games and I just hope I dont end up with too many coasters and an empty wallet lol

Success!!! For all of you ppl asking how do I burn / backup ps2 games, I have finally reached a benchmark and everything has been working for me so far. You will need a flip top or a modchip for your ps2, swap magic discs if u have a flip top, blank dvd's I am using Memorex DVD-R 4x 4.7GB, I have a creative 8x dvd burner and I use the nifty lil program dvd decryptor, I highly suggest using it it is the only thing I have used that works. Use the option in dvd decryptor, ISO read, save the image and mds file somewhere on your desktop it is easy that way, then go in dvd decryptor and use ISO /write, burn at 1x it might take a while but it damn works better than all the coasters I made burning at 8x. There you go u should have succesfully made a backup of your ps2 game(s). I never thought it would work, but it does!!!!!
