I am 100% new to this, I understand only about 30% of what you guys talk about on the board. So, please bear with me on this. Also, if in your replies if you would tell me what the thing is and where I can find it that would be a huge help. Now, my question is this...I recently purchased the HD loader and Hard Drive bundle from consolesource.com. They shipped it and I got it, I installed it everything works fine. I installed Madden 2004....OK. I installed NCAA Football 2004....OK. Then I got NCAA Football 2005 and I wanted to back it up, and it says that it isn't a PS2 disc. WHAT!!!! I am looking at the official PS2 logo. Any help on what I need to do. I own about six games and only those two worked, and all the other ones said they were'nt PS2 discs either. So PLEASE help me and please remember keep terms in layman's terms. Thank you very much.

HD loader isn't compatible with ever game. If you go to their website it should save which games cannot be backed up onto the ps2 with HD loader.

yeah I know all about the compatability issues, but the problem isn't that they don't work it is that it says that they aren't real PS2 games. Secondly, I checked the compatability of NCAA Football 2005 and it said that it would work with one of the enable modes on.

Unfortunately, I can offer no explanation for that. Check http://www.ps2nfo.com and see if the games in question are known to have issues with HD Loader.

HD Loader simply is not compatible with many games. Having programming experience myself I belive it to have something to do with the way the game accesses the disc. The only fix or workaround for the issue would likely be a new version of HD Loader.

Are your original discs scatched in anyway or do they have problems booting on their own? HD Loader does it's own check of the game discs you attempt to install and any scratches may cause this routine to fail where otherwise it would boot directly.

Well NCAA is brand new just out of the box. Would HD Advance have better success, or how do I know my version of HD Loader and find a newer one?

I saw somewhere on this site that if I saw this message I may need some sort of modification. If so, any ideas what that may need, or anyways that I can get around that without modifying my PS2? I don't care if I have to buy something.

Why dont you go to www.swapmagicfix.com and get the cd loader all versions. First get DVD Decrypter and use the iso mode for reading the original play station disc then use the iso write mode to write the backup then use the cd loader with the directions that are on the wwwswapmagicfix. com website and you can copy any game made except the game Swat. I personally have backed up over 250 play station games using this system. Good luck and if you should have trouble you may contact me JimMrBass@cox.net

When it says 'not a valid PS2 disc', select cancel and go back to the menu, without ejecting, and select 'install' again.. do it couple times until it recognizes the disc.
