bigorange,
RB/CCE seems to get rave reviews by everyone that uses it.
What I was getting at was that I've always had excellent copies with shrink and never found the need to use CCE.
Had a look once but it seemed far to complicated but I've no doubt I will give it a go soon.

Yeah, I agree the new shrink is good. If you do give it a try, save yourself a lot of headaches and buy CCE basic for 58.00. Most problems have occured with trial versions with CCE basic or CCE SP.

It's really easy once set up, a truly one click app. Pick your source folder, and hit transcode. That's it.

Even using quality settings in shrink, it's twice as fast as RB/CCE at 2 hours.

RB/CCE is about 3 1/2 to 4 hours. You're looking at a transcoder as opposed to an encoder + the DVD is rebuilt(hence the name). It is hard to tell the difference with RB/CCE at 50% compression from the original.

If you are looking for speed RB/CCE is not for you. We do get around the speed problem somewhat by:

a)running it while we are at work or asleep and

b)using batch mode where you can do several movies at the same time without having to wait and add each one as the previous gets done.

I think I will try out RB/CCE with my Rush - Live in Rio DVD as it will not shrink anyless than around 57%. So it will be a good test.

Any settings I should change off the start?

Thanks

Just follow vurbal's guide and buy CCE basic, trial sucks, it will cause problems.
