Futureshop return policy on media??

HAs anyone returned media to Futureshop after being opened (and a single disc used out of a 100 spindle)?

I bought the Kodak 100 disc spindle last weekend and these are Vanguard type media, the one I burned when run in DVDInfoPro comes up with NONstop errors.

I would like to just return the spindle and pick up some Verbatim if they wont refund me my money to go and get a spindle of Ritek G04's.

Any experiences would be helpful.

I think the Ritek G04 is a good choice.

Did you buy the -R or the +R. I bought the +R
Futureshop will take the return. I have seen them take open media returns before. I have the package of DVD's. The label says 8x but DVD Identifier says that max burn speed is 4x. On that basis you should have no problems returning the media.

These discs according to the label are manufactured in India. Future Shop's Cicero brand has the same media code. At Christmas there was a sale of Mitsumi with the same media code. This list is as bad as CMC and the disc quality is in the same league. I used these discs for data backup and have 1 coaster per 25 discs. The only real issue I have is the packaging has a grey bottom and a rounded top suggesting Ritek or Ricoh

Thanks. If they're made in India I wonder if they're Moser Baer.

I was given some CDRs as a gift last Christmas that ID'd as Moser Baer and they were horrible (even for CDs) so if their DVD media is anything like their CDR's they're bad.

I don't think they are Moser Baer. They are either rejects or a knockoff. The information on the disc is real limited. This is the other code I have see DVD+R:MEDIA ID-001-000. I am concerned they are using packaging that suggests better quality.
But you receive what you have paid for - cheap media price = cheap media.

The ones I bought were the DVD-R and as listed in my original post they identified as being "Vanguard" which is from Taiwan.

I will try and return them this morning sometime.
