I have recently burned final fantasy X and it freezes when it gets to the first watching bit. I have burnt using Nero on the slowest speed and i was wondering if you need to patch it. Thanks for helping

Looks like Sly_61019 was assuming you are using a Swap Method to boot the game. Is this so or what modchip do you use?

No patching is required. Since you're already burning it at the slowest speed my next likely guess is that there is an issue with media quality. Try to get hold of some Verbatim DVD-R media and burn at the slowest speed and see if this solves the problem. Once you get it to work using this formula you can then experiment with different media brands using the same process to see if they work.

Did you just try -R media or did you try a Verbatim DVD-R? Also, what version PS2 do you have and have you tried a lens cleaning?

Did you make a disc to disc copy of the original or did you aquire an image through other means? Perhaps if you burned an image file that the image file is corrupt.
