My new Pioneer 108 can't burn 8X DVD+R

Any help would greatly be appreciated guys.

I've been burning perfectly using my 4X DVD-R ProMedia discs.

I just tried to use DVD Shrink 3.2 to burn a 8X DVD+R disc and I keep getting coasters. I even tried DVDXCopyXpress and it said it was successful but the disc did not play.

I have the latest firmware, ver. 1.10....no clue what to do! Is it the media?

The drive does support 8X +/- so I'm baffled.

I tried playing it in in a DVD-player...JVC-TH something....regardless though the media should work, right?

But how come I get errors in DVDShrink?
