I have tried to backup several ps2 games using an artec dvd writer and non of them work on my ps2 which has been chipped.

i am using some cheap dvd-r disks which may be the problem and have tried to burn using nero 6.0 oem suite (which came with my writer) and dvd decrypter.

does anybody have any suggestions on what is wrong and can you tell me how to solve it.

yeah..ps2 lasers tend to screw up when cheap discs are played..go with Maxell, TDK or Verbatim...continue using decrypter..mode iso read/mode iso write..also try Alcohol 120, its free to try in the software section

hey dude i have a problem too but mines different cause i am using dvd+r sony dvd's and i have a dms3 modchip version 9 ok heres the problem i burned the ps2 game and when i put it on m ps2 it says to insert a ps2 game or ps1 game so does anyone know what am doing wrong??
